McDonald's Unveils New Boo Buckets for Halloween

Disney Villains Boo Buckets Happy Meals are coming soon to a McDonald’s near you!

Kids can tote some truly colorful Halloween buckets when they go trick or treating in 2026, thanks to McDonald’s. Yes, the largest fast-food burger chain in the world has officially unveiled five brand-new Boo Buckets for the spookiest of all seasons, which each feature a different Disney villain from the franchise’s vast library of animated and memorable baddies.

Check out all five of the Disney-themed Boo Buckets pictured above, courtesy of McDonald’s Instagram account. Personally, my favorite is the red bucket with The Lion King’s evil Royal Vizier of Agrabah, Jafar.

However, there are several more Happy Meal containers for kids to choose from, including the purple-colored Ursula, the yellow Scar, white Cruella, and green-hued Maleficent buckets.

Last year, McDonald’s offered the same colors for their Happy Meal Boo Buckets, but the containers didn’t include Disney villains. Rather, children could pick up Happy Meals featuring either a pumpkin (orange), cat (black), zombie (red), goblin (green), or ghost (black).

However, as opposed to last year, there is only one version of each Boo Bucket being sold, which features the Disney characters. In 2025, McDonald’s offered a total of 15 Happy Meal variants to choose from.

For instance, customers could have chosen from three different pumpkin, cat, zombie, goblin, and ghost containers. In my case, I picked up the winking pumpkin as opposed to the evil or happy bucket versions of the Jack-o'-lantern featuring the exact same Halloween character.

McDonald’s declares the 2026 Boo Buckets to be the company’s “scariest collab yet” with Disney, via the same social media post, and the Halloween-centric Happy Meal carriers go on sale beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, and will be sold "while supplies last."

The full press release, courtesy of the McDonald’s Corporation reads as follows:

“This spooky szn, we're entering our villain era. Our iconic Boo Buckets are teaming up with Disney to bring the ones you love to fear to a McDonald’s near you! Starting Oct. 20, the iconic Disney Villains Boo Buckets Happy Meal® are making their way to the Golden Arches with five wickedly collectible designs inspired by Disney’s most notorious scene-stealers. Collect the whole squad featuring: Jafar, Ursula, Scar, Cruella and Maleficent.

Each bucket includes a villain-inspired lid and stickers featuring iconic characters and details true fans will recognize. Whether you’re into fabulous flair, mystical magic, fierce ambition, royal schemes, or sea-witch swagger, there’s a Boo Bucket for every kind of Villains fan. These iconic Halloween favorites are back with a villainous twist for only a limited time, so the only question is, which one will you get first? Head to your local McDonald's while supplies last.”

However, the cost of a Boo Bucket Happy Meal varies by each McDonald’s location depending on whether you purchase the standard hamburger, 4-piece, or 6-piece McNuggets meals.

Yes, even as an adult, I plan on collecting all five Boo Buckets and loading them up with McDonald's delicious cheeseburgers, along with plenty of those perfectly salted French fries the fast-food restaurant is so famous for. And, of course, I always upgrade my drink selection to a creamy vanilla milkshake.
