Marvel Stars Join Forces With 'Kingsman' Actor For Upcoming Netflix Thriller
Netflix’s ‘Apex’ reaches even higher as three of Hollywood’s biggest names join forces in the upcoming survival thriller.

Eric Bana has officially joined the cast of the upcoming survival thriller Apex (per Deadline), which also features fellow Marvel star, Charlize Theron, as well as Taron Egerton of Carry-On, Rocketman, and Kingsman fame. However, who Bana will portray in the Netflix project is still a mystery. The Academy Award-winning Theron was brought onboard the future film back in July 2024 when it was officially announced that Baltasar Kormákur would sign on as the director.
Both Bana and Theron have made forgettable appearances in big-screen adaptations of Marvel Comics. Bana portrayed Dr. Bruce Banner and his angry, super-powered alter ego in the much-maligned 2003 film, Hulk. Unlike Bana, who played the Incredible Hulk prior to the inception of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, Theron did join the MCU, but, as Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) put it best, “at a low point.”
Theron portrayed the Dark Dimension sorceress known as Clea briefly during the mid-credits scene of the Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen-led Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Much like Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch), though, Clea has yet to return to the MCU in a live-action feature film since popping up before Pizza Poppa (Bruce Campbell) did at the conclusion of director Sam Raimi’s Multiverse of Madness movie.
Edgerton was cast several months later in November 2024 in what is being teased as a cross between the movies Free Solo and The Silence of the Lambs, which “follows a rock climber who finds herself being hunted in the wild.” At the time of this writing, an official release date for Apex has not been announced yet.
